How we work
A clear plan from the first conversation.
Three steps that take a regulated business from uncertainty to consistent, well-managed operations.
Why process matters
In regulated industries, consistency is the whole point.
Regulators do not grade on intention. They look for evidence that the right things were done, on time, every time. A management process that is followed the same way each month produces that evidence as a byproduct of doing the work.
The three steps are simple on purpose, because simple processes are the ones that get followed.

01
Discover
We begin by understanding your business as it actually operates. That means reviewing your licenses, obligations, procedures, properties, and the people responsible for each. You receive a written assessment of where you stand and what needs attention first.
What this includes
- A review of every license, permit, lease, and reporting obligation across your jurisdictions
- Interviews with the owners and key staff who carry the operational load today
- A site-level look at procedures, records, and facility conditions
- A written summary of findings, risks, and priorities, delivered in plain language
02
Build the Right Approach
With the picture clear, we design a management plan matched to your industry, your locations, and your goals. Scope, roles, reporting, and timelines are defined before work begins. Nothing is assumed.
What this includes
- A defined scope covering which services apply and where
- A compliance and operations calendar with every date and owner assigned
- Written procedures and standards, created or updated to fit your business
- A reporting cadence and format agreed with you in advance
03
Manage with Consistency
We run the plan month after month, report on a fixed schedule, and adjust as regulations and your business change. You always know what is done, what is due, and what needs a decision.
What this includes
- Ongoing management of the compliance calendar, procedures, vendors, and properties in scope
- Scheduled reporting, with issues raised early and options laid out
- Regular site and standards reviews to confirm the plan is being followed in practice
- Ongoing monitoring of regulatory changes in your jurisdictions, with updates to the plan as needed
Expectations
What working with SPL feels like.
A single point of contact who knows your business and answers directly
Written plans and reports, so nothing important lives only in a conversation
Problems raised as soon as we see them, with a recommended course of action
A scope that fits your business today and can expand as it grows
Engagement
How an engagement is set up.
- The consultation comes first: a personal reply within two business days, then a call of about 30 minutes. There is no obligation.
- After the call, you receive a written proposal setting out the scope, the reporting schedule, and the fee.
- Ongoing management is a fixed monthly fee, scoped to the services, the number of sites and jurisdictions, and the hands-on work involved.
- One-time work, such as an initial assessment or a licensing application, is quoted as a project with a defined end.
- Work begins only when both sides sign a written agreement. If you later stop, we hand back a complete calendar, current procedures, and organized records.
Take the first step.
The consultation helps us understand your situation and decide together whether to propose a scoped assessment. See how engagements work for the full sequence.
